The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is seeking an Executive Assistant to perform administrative duties for the Executive Director with the specific interest of advancing the effectiveness of the Executive Director’s position. This includes meeting and calendar management, coordination and arrangement of meetings, time and expense reporting, and correspondence. This is a salaried, full-time staff position that reports to the Executive Director and is based in our Mahwah, N.J., headquarters.
The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is seeking seasonal Trail Stewards to educate and assist the public in the safe, responsible, and enjoyable use of trails. Stewards are stationed at Breakneck Ridge, on the Appalachian Trail at Bear Mountain, or on summits in the Catskills on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from Memorial Day Weekend through Columbus Day. They provide helpful outreach and information about park regulations, hiker safety, preparedness, and other best practices. In addition to readying hikers, Stewards help discourage and mitigate misuse of trails and the surrounding land through their education and public relations work.
Trail Conference Conservation Corps
The Trail Conference Conservation Corps is now accepting applications for the 2018 season! If you have a love of the outdoors, a passion for hard work, and a thirst for knowledge, becoming a Trail Conference Conservation Corps Member might be for you.
Currently there are twenty 900 hour positions available in several locations throughout the Lower Hudson Valley with our Invasives Strike Force and Trail Building Crews. These are 900 hour positions serving April 27 through October 16, 2018. There are also currently three 675 hour positions available with the Terrestrial Invasives Strike Force Crew. These 675 hour positions serve from May 17 through September 17.
