Park Overview
The park is perched on a hillside overlooking a reservoir and includes an 0.9-mile section of the Highlands Trail.
Trail Overview
An 0.9-mile section of the Highlands Trail [teal diamond] passes through the preserve. The trailhead begins on the north side of Van Syckles Road, opposite the parking area. The remaining trails consist of overgrown woods roads that are not easily navigated due to the dense vegetation and hills terrain.

Union Furnace Preserve
Union Furnace Preserve is perched on a hillside overlooking Spruce Run Reservoir, Hunterdon County Park, which is named for the ironworks that flourished nearby from 1742 to 1781 [the actual site of the furnace was flooded by the reservoir].
