Join your fellow Trail Conference members, volunteers, and staff on Friday November 9 as we climb West Mountain via the Appalachian Trail, enjoying breathtaking views of Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks, West Point, and
the majestic Hudson River Valley.
The hike will highlight our Long Distance Trails Crew’s rehabilitation of the Appalachian Trail on West Mountain. Highlights include more than a dozen views, a trail shelter, high open meadows, a walk through a white pine forest and a variety other habitats.
This is a moderately paced circuit hike of approximately 4.5 miles. It includes one relatively steep climb and rugged descent.
