The Catskills Trail Crew is recruiting volunteers to clear blowdown on the Dry Brook Ridge Trail on Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29, 2022. Please join the Blowdown Brigade for a fun and strenuous time working in the woods. We'll supply all tools and send you details about preparing for the event after signing up. You'll need sturdy hiking boots, a backpack with lunch and personal gear, and a sense of adventure to tackle tough blowdowns on rugged, backcountry terrain.
The plan is to have four teams covering different sections of the trail on both days. This project will require carrying a pack and tools, working on 5-7 miles of trail, and hiking all day in the mountains. Anyone is welcome to join as long as you can meet the physical demands of the planned work. We’re also seeking team leaders with experience using forestry tools, including saws and axes. Please sign up for the days that suit your schedule and help us clear the trail for the hiking community.
Come join us for a day, or both days !
Must be at least 18 years of age or older to participate.
Location: Dry Brook Ridge Trail
