Volunteer Trail Steward Training Workshop for Hudson Highlands & Fahnestock

Registration is closed for this event
Do you love talking trails with fellow hikers? Do you want to help ensure visitors preserve our landscapes while enjoying the trails?

Trail Steward speaking with trail users.

Join the Trail Conference and the Hudson Highland Land Trust to learn how to become a volunteer Trail Steward for Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve and Clarence Fahnestock State Park.

Learn about Natural Resource Protection, Leave-No-Trace Principals, how to connect with visitors, and how to minimize the need for First Aid and Rescues.

The training will be held in two parts:

  1. First we ask that you watch our recorded Trail Steward Training Webinar at any time before the workshop.
  2. Then you'll attend the in-person workshop where we will practice the skills you learn about in the webinar.

The in-person training will be led by Hudson Valley Conservation Corps Leader, Rosa Bledsoe, and AmeriCorps Hudson Valley Trail Stewards, Lani Chevat and Stephen Shuler.
