Park Description:

The Black Creek Forest Preserve is a 130-acre woodland tract in the Town of Esopus.  It features a hemlock forest mixed with hardwoods, old stone walls, and vistas of the Hudson River from a riverfront viewpoint.
Trails Overview:

There are three marked trails in the preserve.  Hike in from the parking lot on the 0.5-mile Yellow Trail, proceeding over Black Creek on a suspension bridge then past a nature information panel ultimately to reach the Red Trail.  From here is it possible to complete an attractive 1.5-mile figure-eight hike by combining the Red and Blue trails.  The Blue Trail leads down to the shore of the Hudson River.

Directions:

The parking area for the preserve is on Winding Brook Road, on the east side of US 9W, 5.3 miles north of the intersection of US 9W and NY 299.  See also trail map available on the preserve's web site.
